Simple things aren't!

I have the Motorola 'looks like a notebook' terminal I use for Raspberry Pi projects.
I did the modification and made the USB split cable and it works very well.

I download your image, apply it to SD card and plug the card into a Pi and boot.

Runs without problem except, when it gets to Login: pi/raspberry doesn't work, root/root doesn't work and there is no readme.txt file with login instructions.

Please help.

Hi Howard,

We'll help to make it work! Just a few questions:

I did the modification and made the USB split cable and it works very well.

What modification and what USB split cable are you speaking about?

Runs without problem except

Can you give details about what is working, what MIDI keyboard / what soundcard do you use

when it gets to Login: pi/raspberry doesn't work, root/root
doesn't work and there is no readme.txt file with login instructions.

What happens then? Password denied?
It should be root/root indeed.
Have you tried to connect via network / SSH as well ?

With these additional informations, it'll be easier to debug.

Apologies - the USB split cable is for the lap dock to pi connection.

Motorola Droid Razor Lapdock 100 (intended for Droid phone) (project is http://www.instructables.com/id/Raspberry-PI-Motorola-Lapdock/)
The Lapdock has micro HMDI female port (bought 6 inch cable) and micro USB female port ( modified cable - micro male to power in on Pi and.regular USB male to port on pi for data). Comes with power brick and gives you 10" display, keyboard, touchpad, and two more USB ports on back.

On clean boot root/root works, thanks !

I am working on portable system with batteries. I will send you details with pictures next week.

I love music and electronics and computing and this project is BEAUTIFUL!
