Samples with note names won't play.

I've got a working SamplerBox running on a Pi4b with a Pirate Audio HAT. I've been struggling to get a working sample set added. I downloaded a couple from the Instruments tab on the SamplerBox web page. The LatelyBass one worked, but not the Grand Piano(Salamander). I also tried GrandPiano v2 from homspace. They both actually caused SamplerBox to freeze up and I had to restart the Pi when I tried to play. The difference I could see between the sets was that Grand Piano uses note names for the filenames and the bass uses midi note numbers. So I dumped all but one velocity layer and painstakingly renamed the remaining samples to use midi note numbers. And now it works perfectly, aside from only having one velocity layer. Does anyone know why that happens, and what I might be able to do to fix it? Or am I just doomed to have to make sure all my sample sets use note numbers?
