USB DAC issue

Hello,
I'm a beginner with Raspberry Pi and SamplerBox is my first project. It's great; everything works fine except for using an USB DAC. I have no problems with the standard audio output of the Raspberry Pi, but I get no sound with USB sound card.
I tried two devices:

  • PCM2704 USB as recommended in the official project
  • Another USB device that is supposed to work with the Raspberry Pi
I got the same results on a Raspberry Pi 2 and a Raspberry Pi 3B+

Can you help me? Where is the problem?
Do I need to change something in the SamplerBox script or install specific drivers?
Will I have the same problem with a HAT sound card?
Thank you

well Ive tried 3 RASPI Dacs all built with the recomended chip and 2 USB dacs, again supposedly with the right chip EVEN the default 3.5mm. And have sound coming from NOWHERE

However I built a minidesd, and do have sound from the 3.5MM headphone jack.

So I know that:

  1. The headphones work
  2. The jack works
3, The keyboard works - THIS ONE IS A BIGGIE. I pulled my hair out for a month last year only to find a note stashed away somewhere that said that there were known issues with some of the generic mini keyboard controllers. Looked mine up and lo and behold thats what Iwas usng.

So I swapped to a 61 key MidiMan controller and it works great

Im still trying, you guys get a screen working on your? I get the backlight and nothing else

Ive tried everythung from a RPI2 - 4, I skipped the 5, its too new and the RASPI 02w as its too small for my goals

ALSO it took me too long to remember that the RPI4 had boot issues with certain SD cards, so if youre using a 4 make sure you cards boot with a normal OS
